The draping style used in Peshwai style Nauwar is typically worn by Marathi women of Brahmin community. This was also the draping style of Brahmin Peshwa women during Maratha empire, hence the name Peshwai.
Distinctive feature of this style is an Ocha (curved pleats) at front of the nauwari saree.
